On the 29th May, we attended the Egni 2019 event hosted by M-SPARC "Tidal energy; And the tide rises, the tide falls" where Nick, our Business Development Manager, presented ideas about how to use hydrogen to link tidal energy generation to the wider energy system. Anglesey, North Wales (where the event took place) has many advantages for both generating tidal energy and using hydrogen: the UK's second largest container port is based there, it's a popular spot for tourists, and there's a large amount of heavy duty transport that passes through it. With some joined up thinking we could be using the island's abundant tidal resource and also decarbonising its industry and transport as well. We think there's huge potential here - watch this space!
